Junior Field Support Engineer

Job Description:

Petrolink provides data management solutions to the world’s largest oil companies. Due to continued business growth Petrolink Services Ltd requires enthusiastic, highly motivated candidates for the role of Junior Field Support Engineer.

The positions will be based in Aberdeen and will involve working as part of a team providing data management services for our clients in the oil and gas industry.

Main responsibility will be to set-up and configure equipment offshore. Coordinate set-up with Real-time team while at the rig. Maintain local equipment inventory and keep rig equipment software up to date.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understands fully that all data managed is client specific and extremely confidential.
• Setting up Real-time equipment on the rig. Coordinate set-up with the Real-time team.
• Return trip to rigs for equipment trouble shooting and retrieval of equipment after job completion.
• Certified for mobilisation to national and international rigs, both on-shore and off-shore.
• Maintains contact with the Real-time Coordinator and Field Service Quality manager about expected job set-ups and special requirements for specific jobs.
• Maintains contact with Sales team regarding upcoming Real-time jobs.
• Responsible for maintenance of company equipment.

Other duties will include data management and administration, administering real-time projects, and troubleshooting user problems. After training and orientation, candidates will be required to make occasional rig and international trips for project mobilisation’s.

Candidates should be flexible and willing to travel at short notice. Key requirements also include reliability, attention to detail, and good troubleshooting/problem solving skills.

Requirements:

• Computer skills and General IT experience are preferred.
• Process Improvement, Reporting Skills. Good customer relationship and support.
• Ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
• The role of Junior Field Support Engineer, would suit recent school or college graduates. Oilfield experience a plus.
